Mandatory training is now required for all guardians. A six-hour course, Fundamentals of Adult Guardianship, is required to be completed before or within six months of appointment.

In addition, in each succeeding year following, guardians are required to complete a three-hour continuing education course.

Courses may be taken in a facilitator-led setting, in a computer-broadcast setting or online from one’s own computer. More information regarding these mandatory trainings can be found on The Supreme Court of Ohio website.
